Annie Duke may not have won her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until ‘04 but she remains one of the most feared poker players around the live action games at The Bellagio in vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with success at the "cast aside game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While players from the "younger crowd" of poker run crazy after a large win at the tournament, Annie goes back home to be "mom" to her four kids. She was born in New Hampshire and raised into a family of poker competitors. If you do not accept that, observe her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who coached her how to bet on the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has succeeded at her cut of difficult tables, including knocking out Howard a few times along the way. They’re both competitors that have the ability to capture the huge money and do it with a smile.

Annie is a tough competitor at any table considering that she is a natural poker player, but it’s a little more than just being strong at the game. Annie is very intelligent and graduated from Columbia University where she double majored in Psychology and English.

When you are seated across from her at the poker table you’ll see Annie is there to compete in the game and she begins "sizing" you up from the time you approach the poker table. If you cannot bet like a camp, then don’t bother.

Acquiring over three million dollars in tournament play, Mrs. Duke branched out to become a adviser to both the UltimateBet website and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who was looking to hone his talents and develop into a force at the tables.

You may see her at the Bellagio, you will see her on the television and you might even play against her in a web-based poker game, but do not count on an easy win. Except of course you’re a camp-in-the-making, you will not beat her. Although, it would be fun to mention you played at the same table as "The Duke".
